Surf and Remote Work in Sayulita, Mexico
By Offshore Stays Editorial
Sayulita is a small beach town in Nayarit, on Mexico's Pacific coast, roughly an hour's drive from Puerto Vallarta's airport. The main break is mellow and popular with beginners and longboarders, and the town is compact enough to walk.
Surf
The waves are usually gentle, which makes it a good place to learn or to ride a longboard. Swell tends to be more consistent in the warmer, wetter months, and other times of year can be flat. Nearby beaches offer different options for more experienced surfers.
Working from Sayulita
The town is used to visitors who stay a while, and there are cafes and places to work. Connectivity depends on the property, so ask about speed and backup, and carry a local SIM or eSIM. Weather in the wet season can affect service.
Getting there
