About
The Calima Surf House sits in the fishing village of Caleta de Famara, inside the Chinijo archipelago nature reserve, with views of La Graciosa and a 5 km sandy beach 100 metres from the door. The house is about 250 m², quiet, clean and fully equipped, with private bedrooms (towels, sheets and blankets included), communal rooms, a kitchen, a barbecue and a sunny terrace. Within 100 metres there are supermarkets, fish restaurants, a bakery and a pub. Calima Surf School runs the house and has taught surfing in Lanzarote since 1996.

Surf
Famara has a 5 km sandy beach 100 metres from the house, with waves for beginners and more experienced surfers. Calima Surf School teaches all levels (BSA level 3 programme, lessons from 2 hours a day), with surf camps, private lessons, kids' camps and surfboard rental. The school also offers kitesurfing, diving and yoga.

Community
Guests share the house with other surfers from around the world, and the surf camps put everyone in the same lessons so friendships form easily. There are separate bedrooms for girls and boys. The terrace and barbecue are the social spot, and the school organises trips and activities around the island.

Calima Surf School has been teaching surfing in the Canary Islands since 1996. It was founded by Maike, who started surfing in 1981, and is an official surf school supported by Quiksilver and Roxy. Irene and the reservations team look after guests.
