Surf and Remote Work in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

Santa Teresa is a beach town on the southwest tip of Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula. Long stretches of beach with several peaks make it popular with surfers of most levels, and the town has a strong yoga and wellness scene alongside its surf culture.

Surf

There is usually a peak that suits your level, from gentle to powerful. The dry season, roughly December to April, brings sunshine, while the green season is wetter and often has bigger swell. Check conditions each day and respect the local lineup.

Working from Santa Teresa

The roads are unpaved in places and infrastructure is more rustic than in a city, so confirm your workspace and connectivity, and ask about backup power and internet. Plan critical calls around what you have tested.

Getting there

Most visitors arrive via San Jose or Liberia airports, then travel by road, sometimes with a ferry crossing on the way.

Planning

Use our wifi checklist and the work-friendly surf house checklist.
